Article: An Interview With Suna Senman
Delightful is a word that simply sums up my experience of interviewing author Suna Senman. Her perspective in the book trilogy 'Being', 'Peace', and 'Full', is priceless in practicality. In book two 'Peace', Suna shared with me that she really feels as though she is dialoguing with herself and the reader listens as if it is their own story. Easy exercises inviting inquiry as to what true peace means to the

reader, enlightens as it brings new personal meaning to this often misunderstood word.
Suna’s personal experience gives her the vantage point that peace comes as a result of the tension that arises naturally when there is contrast. A contrasting diverse geographical background, having been raised by a patriarchal father and a matriarchal mother, became a balance beam for the balancing act that she negotiated in her formative years. I could hear this was life-altering in a foundational way, igniting her personal truth about what peace really is and where it comes from. Just like rubbing two rough stones together that smooth each other out, Suna learned early in life the potency and peace of the inherent balance point that arises within contrast.
Suna is all about balance in every aspect of her life, which is why she excels in working with people to find that for themselves, personally and professionally. I chuckled to myself listening to her speak of how she trained in gymnastics as a teenager: her event was the balance-beam. She even has twins and, ironically of course, she has one of each: a boy and a girl! Suna's equalizing presence invites balance to happen, naturally.
It seems Suna’s life is right on purpose. It’s no accident that she learned on a balance beam and her twins were male and female, because balance is a major theme that is manifested throughout her life. When asked what her idea of ‘perfect happiness’ is, she replied: “balance, appreciation, and gratitude”. I heard that as a perfect triad for maintaining a state of peace and joy.
I found in Suna an uncommon depth and spiritual connection that often arises from a life with many catalyzing, contrasting experiences that have to be lived through. Her tagline of “Guiding Individuals to Higher Quality Living” not only encapsulates her soul wisdom but is echoed in her current personal motto of “you don’t need to be perfect you just need to be a little bit better”.
She loves to touch people in positive ways, supporting open hearts and minds, encouraging them to awaken to their true identity. In her sensitivity she is deeply moved when people are inspired by her work. Suna’s lifelong experience in having to cope with, and learn, ‘the art of balance’ has gifted her with the reward of a pristine perception that is priceless. LCM
